Catholic Priest Blesses a New Rickhouse at Log Still Distillery

On June 9th, 2024, to celebrate the completion of a new bourbon rickhouse at Log Still Distillery, Father Hardesty gave the blessing of a building, a granary, and of a crucifix in Latin, and then reading the English to the crowd.

A joyous celebration right in the heart of the Kentucky Holy Land near the bourbon capital of the world, Bardstown. A wonderful witness to the delight of the Catholic faith. The Dant family, who own and operate the distillery, can trace their lineage back to J.W. Dant, a Catholic-bourbon patriarch who gave the land on which the Abbey of Gethsemani now stands to the Sisters of Loretto in the 1800s.
